Dr. Jim Gerson began sculpting to balance the stress of his fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He continues his art to this day out of his home in Los Angeles, intermittently working also out of Claire Steinberg’s home studio.

Creating from clay, his preferred medium, Jim’s work conveys the feelings and inspiring forms that rise from the heterogeneity of the human form. Jim often works from live models, but finds inspiration in spontaneity, which has often led to his more abstract works.

Jim’s work can be found throughout private collections and at Brandman University, where he was chosen to install a bust of founder Saul Brandman.
